Powerpoint Mac - Wintel question

Powerpoint document created in Office 95 with included bitmap graphics
(scanned images of a data plot) opened in Office 98 will print the bitmap
graphics in "reverse" colors. All the white pixels are black and all
black are white. I tried all the settings I could find under Format:
Picture and have no luck fixing this. Does anyone know of a solution? Is
this just a feature of Powerpoint?
