6500 internal modem upgrading??

6500 internal modem upgrading??
I opened my 6500/225 to take a look. The Express internal modem appears
to be a "low" profile type? Two inches high maybe?The mb connector is on
one end and the rj11 connector that fits through the case is on the
opposite end.
I bought a Zoom internal 56 P C modem. I have not opened it. Easier to
return unopened. From the picture on the Zoom box, the "style" might be
different than the express modem. It appears taller?
Anyone replaced the Express modem with a p c model modem?
Also there appears to be a "door" that covers the modem serial port
now.
How do I take the plastic "cover" off?
