a five port 10 Base T hum is only $39.00 or $49.00 anyone can hook it
up, it is cost-effective, I have one in my office for 1 PC, a Laptop and
a G3, all hooked up to our main (big) corporate network through 1
network connector in the wall.

there is software called "proxy server", wingate, winproxy & spaghetti
come to mind on the PC, there are others available for the Mac. this
software would allow you to share the modem amongst all the PC's and
Mac's on your network, all for less that $100.00 (some -wingate- are
free for only two users)

If the printer is AppleTalk, then using maclan on the PC, you could use
it from both.
It would not matter as long as you had the right drivers.
PS is dependent on the printer, but you could run something like
superprint
on the PC which would allow you to print PS from the PC, and if you
create
PS on the mac, put it into a folder on the PC where it would be printer
automatically. (sounds harder than it is)

Depends on the monitor and the video card on the PC, if it is Multisync,
you should be able to get a video switch box for about $20.00 (I do this
in my office)
Anything else, fell free to e-mail me directly

BTW , a stand-alone system is ALWAYS (IMHO) better than emulation,
besidess a card woul cost about the same as a full machine, especially
if you don't need an extra monitor.

If you have kids and deskspace, the extra monitor would come in handy
