Subject: Re: IBM voice recognition on Mac

Hello,

Does anyone have anyexperience running the IBM software You Talk/It
Types...or whatever it's called on a Mac using Windows emulation such as
soft Windows or any of the other PC emulation programs?

Hi to you.
I've tried multiple times- using softwindows '95/ vpc and dragon
dictate. Although someone, somewhere said it did work, I have had no
luck so far.
There are two problems- getting a high enough sound input into your Mac
(input is at line level, and these things need mic level) and the sound
emulation of vpc which is, at best 8-bit soundblaster and not 16 (which
most of the pc voice recognition progs need). When I try to record sound
using my g3 and vpc, it come back chopped up, which I don't understand.
Any thoughts?
