I'm planning to build a "sneaker drive" for the sole purpose of
storing dome off site backups :

I have a small LAN (OS 9 / OS X / Win XP) which Retrospect looks after.

I was planning to put a large Seagate Barracuda in a USB 2 / FireWire
combo case so I could occasionally make a copy of the backup files
(stored on a machine on the LAN) and keep it off site.

I had also hoped to use it on some "satellite" machines (not
networked or on Retrospect) to store "vital" files.

Is there a HD format that all the above platforms can read or a
solution to allow the least compatible machines to see it?

    Cheers, Antony.
