Next message: Tom Roth: "RE: [WinMac] Networking and SFM"
Hello,
I have a WinNT server (4.0 sp6a) running services for Macintosh and
acting as the main file server for all my Macintoshes. Periodically,
the Macs get an error stating that the connection was unexpectedly
lost, and the connection is shut down. I also get messages on the
server saying that the connection timed out and was closed. Is there
a way to prevent this? or should I try to switch to another server,
say maybe set up an OSX box and use it? A major problem is, if people
have files open on the server, everything slows down almost to the
point of being unusable while you try to get the connection back up.
Cordially,
Steven Thomas
