    My bad... sorry.

The contractor indicated a 65,0000 limit on files for a given W2K volume
    running SFM -
I did some searching around and about on MS and other sites also and found
no reference to 65,000 ANYTHING. Just doing do diligence.

Regarding your note about path length - that does not surprise me, and
actually, we have advised our users to keep their file names short to avoid
this issue - in particular as Quark XPress has a difficult time with path
names longer than 255 characters also... regardless of what the OS will or
    will not allow.

    THANKS!

    65,000 *what* limit?? Users? files?

The only limits I can remember offhand is that you cannot nest Mac
shared volumes, and there is a limit on the full path length (I believe
it is 255 chars total) , which for 9.x clients isn't a problem, since
it's the same on them, but OSX clients can exceed that limit on local
    drives.

Note: I could well be wrong, but I don't remember the 65,000 number
popping up when I looked at the SFM documentation on our W2k servers,
though it was a while ago.
