the "rm -r" command should do the job, but *please* be careful with it!
It's a very dangerous command, especailly when used as root, because the
"-r" switch means "recursive", so if you were to do something like

  rm -r /

you'd wipe your hard drive!

I suggest that whenever you use the "rm -r" command, you specify which
directory you want deleted in full, just to be safe. So,

   rm -r /home/newuser/

should do the job.
