I can say G4 Cube and my wife and I both love ours. We did the research
and decided that what they offered was what we wanted and needed. The
only expansion we've wanted to do was to expand the RAM to 1.5 Gig and
put a FAST external Firewire CDR on mine. (I got the DVD/CD drive in mine
and she got the CDR.) Categorizing the design of the new iMac as "off-
the-wall" is hardly an accurate statement. We all know they spent a lot
of time refining this design into one that will work. OTW implies a fast,
almost frivolous approaach.

_Exactly_, this is an entry level computer. Competitive pricing is
important. As many have said the LCD 15" is about as large in display
area as a standard CRT 17". The display is very sharp and steady (no
flicker) and easy to look at. Try one out and see for yourself.

Again I say try one out, you may be surprised at how fast it does
PhotoShop and music stuff. I'm running a 500 Mhz G4 Cube with a 22"
Cinema display and it is really great for page layout (two pages on
screen at once), photo enhancement, montaging, etc. The only music I do
with it is listening, but I can play music or a DVD at the same time that
I collect e-mail and edit photos and I don't have any problems with gaps
in sound/movie while doing the other stuff. If you try it and like it,
buy them, if not don't, but definitely do not rely on what anybody tells
you, us included, make your own decision. That's what I do and that's why
I'm using what I'm using. It's perfect for _me._

Fairwinds and happy bytes,
