        Dear Steven,

        The "quick & dirty" way to create & manage shares in NT4 is through the old
(NT 3.51) File Manager. But, you have to manage Mac & PC shares differently.
We talk about sysadmin issues like this on the Mac-NT Mailing List
<http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=Mac-NT>

        The Mac-XP home LAN issue is taking on a new spin because of two
developments: Unix (via OS X) & NTFS (via NT 5.1, err, WinXP) moving from the
server room to Harry Homeowner. If your running OS X, then using Thursby's
DAVE 3.1 on the Mac seems to be about the best way to go. DAVE also gives you
access to the XP machine in System 7/8/9, leveraging off NTFS (Native
Transactional File System) strength.

        Cheers!
        Dan
