[WinMac] Old & New Printer : Sharing

Subject: [WinMac] Old & New Printer : Sharing

OK, heres the multi-printer rundown :

* Home-office LAN featuring Macs (OS 9.x & 10.x) and PCs (W2K)
* Apple LaserWriter 4/600PS with Farallon iPrint LocalTalk <-> Ethernet Adaptor
* Epson Colour Photo 720 USB

Obviously all the Macs can print to the LaserWriter but not the PCs
(I found that Apples 'LaserWriterBridge' software was problematic on
my network hence the iPrint.)

I can share the Epson between all the PCs if plugged in to a PC, and
all the Macs if plugged in to a Mac.

What I would REALLY like is the ability to print to EITHER printer
from ANY machine. All printers will be centralized (on a server if
necessary.)

Any recommendations for how to acheive this?

Furthermore the 4/600 is getting a bit long in the tooth given the
PDFs and graphic rich documents we're printing. 2-25 minute waits are
not acceptable so a new laser printer is envisaged in the near future.

My personal preference is for a HP 1200 series (with network adaptor)
- I've always found the HP stuff seriously robust in the cross
platform stakes.

Anyone had experience with these machines or recommend similar? (say
Kyocera and you will DIE!)

Thanks in advance, Antony.
