I have set up new Power Macs and iMacs for clients
who didn't want to upgrade software, document etc.
  like databases.
They actually run Filemaker Pro 2.1 (copyright circa 1994)
and MacWrite Pro 2.0 (cir 1990) on New PowerMac G4s and
on iMacs. Don't try doing this with Windows. Most of
the problems with software on new PowerMacs have to
do with drivers, USB, etc. While they are both in the
business to sell software, I don't think Bill and Steve
are completely kindred spirits.
