The problem isn't so much Airport security as 802.11 protocol security
problems. The protocol itself is easier to hack than it should be.

The 128-bit encryption of Airport 2 base stations is certainly better
than the previous 40-bit encryption. Remember that you have to purchase
a new base station to get the higher encryption level. You can upgrade
older base stations to 2.0 but the encryption remains 40-bit.
