In a nutshell:

- Quicksilver 867
- Adaptec 2940U2W
- 3 drives on one internal chain: IBM UltraStar U2Wide LVD, two
SEAGATE ST318406LW (U160)
- On LVD channel with Silverlining 6.4.3: Read 42kb/sec, write 1.5 kb/sec
- On SE channel with Silverlining 6.4.3: Read 28kb/sec, write 31 kb/sec
- With Apple drivers on either channel: Read 6kb/sec, write 5.6kb/sec

I have tech support calls into LaCie and Adaptec but was wondering if
any of you have an idea what is going on. It looks like a
hardware/software interaction issue to me.
