Mac did have a problem with proper rendering of text with
IE 4 and earlier as well as the Netscape 4.7 and earlier. HTML
tags, as well as the default fonts on the Mac, made text display
a different size. That is all gone with Mac IE 5 and Netscape 6
    for make.
As Paul indicated, it's best to use Cascading Style SHeets and
avoid some of the Windows Active Page tags, as well as
embedding some Microsoft proprietary tags. And the
MICROSOFT Internet Explorer for Mac does render any
    standard compliant HTML correctly.

Now you definitely will have problems trying to serve
these pages on a Mac/OS X server if the person creating
the pages made them with FrontPage and for an
Microsoft Server. You need Active Page extensions to
utilize all those Microsoft tags. This is part of Microsoft's
plan to get the ISP and servers to require, not only the
latest version - read upgrade - of IIS, but to get the
the people to use Microsoft product. I think they call
it embrace, enhance and extinguish. Anyway, creating
page with Front Page will necessitate you to maintain
pages with this product if you use their bots and other
Microsoft tags. Viewing the pages from a Mac/Unix/Linux
or Windows client does not create any problems, other
than needed specific plug-ins which is available for
    most platforms.
