FWIW
I had my first experience with Win 2000's Services for Macintosh this week and
had difficulty getting a public volume to appear in the Chooser. Finally,
after much time consulting documentation and repeated attempts at setting file
sharing options, I did it for Macintosh only and not Windows, and the volume
shows up in the Chooser now. I figured this out once I noticed a volume I
configured earlier was accidentally shared as Mac only and it appeared in the
Chooser immediately.
