The MAC SCSI buss will mount FAT 16 & FAT32 HDD but not NTFS drives.

what software are you using for your audio & video stuff?

If you are going to go SCSI you could try using something like the Kingston
Technology Bays - which allow you to "hot swap" (kind of) HDD's into & out
of machines via a bay. You can get them in various arrays - 1, 4, 8 drives
i think. THey are definitely very good but i think they're expensive, check
    them out at:

I'm not sure about firewire devices so I can't comment there.

    giles.

Subject: [WinMac] Cross Platform FireWire HD

I require a large capacity HD (externally cased) for storage of audio
    and video (DV) files.

Ideally the drive needs to be swapable between Mac & PC systems.

The obvious selection seemed SCSI. However all my machines are
already FireWire equipped and this seems a great high speed, ID less,
hot swap solution for less than SCSI.

From memory Mac's will mount PC SCSI disks (via PC Exchange) - does
this include NTFS as well as FAT32 formatted drives? And what about
    mounting a cross-platform FireWire drive?

    TIA, Antony.
