    AppleShare 6+ is absolutly rock solid. Turn it on and walk away. Only bad
    thing I've ever had happen to my AppleShare server was a drive failed.

    It's not cheap, though.... $999 at the apple store, though they may be able
    to ge a discount since they're a non-profit.

    It's not a formal file server as such; It's a www server/
    mail server/ mailing list server and "whatever anyone drags over
    and dumps there" server.

    How expensive/stable is AppleShare 6+?
