Open files are not a function of how much RAM you have installed, but of what
operating system you're using. Upgrade to 9.x and those messages should
disappear, as you can have many times more "files" open. (Files in this case
does not refer to visible windows open under your applications, but has more to
do with OOP ... for example, my email program opens a "file" for every mailbox
in the list of mailboxes, whether or not I'm viewing messages from any of them).
