The only thing you need to worry about is which Palm OS-based item you go
for.
WinCE\PocketPC = bad (and I'm generally happy to push both Macs and PCs so
I'm not doing this as an anti-MS thing)
PalmOS = good
ISP e-mail
Network synch'ing
Modem synch'ing
All work and apart from when I've been foolishly tinkering with things have
always worked. AvantGo is indespensible as a replacement for spending
hundreds on magazines (though obviously not as tactile).
Palms - everything in one. Most have a smaller form-factor. Inexpensive
modems\cables to attach to phones
(I was a relatively early adopter - Palm III modem and Nokia 5110 GSM.
Surfed and sent e-mail throughout Europe.)
Handsprings - expandable, groovier but modules can be expensive (you *know*
that you'll end up buying an MP3 module simply because it's available).
I lean towards a Palm simply because it'll stop me spending the extra
£200-$300 on an MP3 module... but if I didn't care about that I'd get the
colour Visor (can't remember it's name)... BUT I'm thinking of ditching my
good old III and getting the colour Visor anyway.
Oh, decisions, decisions
