    same extensions?
    same scsi bus?
    built in scsi, or pci card?
    tried a new card?
    tried reseating the old one?

    i know this particular mac had issues with more than one device on the IDE
    channels, perhaps there's a scsi equivalent of same.. a lobotomized version
    of the standard...
