the goal is fixing it myself.
why pay some shmuck for labor when
i most likely know more about the
    process involved than they do?
i just cant get the parts..
    you know..

i used to work at a compusa, bought the mac
there as a refurb for 600..
    i totally rebuilt the thing
    from its humble beginnings (stock)
into a fully customized maxed out badass..
    for a 233 beige box. ;)

    it just left warranty period,
    of course.

the idea of dragging it back
to a compusa and letting their (generally)
    inept techs (in _my_ experience)
touch my baby gives me the willies.

or am i just being a weenie about this?

    thanks for the tips.

    you guys wr0ck.
