I have tested the IP software on an NT4 SP5 server with a shared directory
that about 11 people actively using it. Not a single problem, whilst SFM
also shared different volumes on the same machine. EZIP was at version
    1.11.

I then stopped sharing the other volumes with SFM, stopped the services and
shared everything with EZIP. I also installed this software on all our
other servers that needed to share files with Mac clients. I also installed
    the 1.13 version.

Now I had servers crashing with Dr. Watson Errors, so I got a new version of
the 1.13 that solved that issue, but there is one issue still remaining that
has become critical...here is where I hope anyone can help...I know this is
not strictly Macintosh, and I will be posting this request on other Mac and
NT lists so I am hoping that maybe SOMEONE has seen (and solved) this before
as I am at a loss...

I have Mac documents that are loosing their resource fork info, or at least
the server is displaying it that way, files are reverting to plain PC
document files..if I open the file from within the program that created, and
show all files, it still works...if I have the type and creator entered in
the database of ZIP and the user puts the proper 3 letter extension at the
end of the file name, the server forces the proper icon and all is well, but
I have files that are loosing their info on a regular and alarming interval.

Also I have files that are simply disappearing...either from the Mac side,
    or both.

    Here is some info...

Compaq Proliant server, 512 megs RAM, several 9 gig HD's in a Raid 5
    arrangement.

    NT 4, SP5

Some third party utilites such as Virusscan and Quota Advisor installed, as
well as SMS for remote management.

Two main shares that all users use, and 2 or three smaller shares that a
    handful of people are using.

The main share is Home, and in there are the home directories for all 4
grades, in a folder called students, and a folder called staff set up in the
same manner. Individual folders are shared on the PC side, but on the Mac
it is just the root folder.

Has anyone seen problems like this and have come across a solution? PLEASE
e-mail me if you want any more info.....I would hate to have to set this one
server back to SFM...it also involves zapping out new server aliases using
ANA (least of my problems) but that would still be a pain.

Thanks for any suggestions, and I will summarize of course...

        -Mike
