    Tom,

This question has come up a several times on the ASIP list and the consensus
there was to stay the heck away from Newer Tech's stuff.

Newer has had severe quality control problems with their G3 cards as well as
very buggy drivers (for reference, search http://www.macfixit.com/ for newer
tech). Their quality control problems are a direct result of the recent
    financial troubles.

On the ASIP list, Sonnet Technologies G3 upgrade cards are the most
recommended. On my network, all of my older PCI and Nubus PowerMacs are
upgraded using a Sonnet G3 Card. I have not had a single card fail yet, nor
have I had any stability problems.
