Macintosh beige G3 desktop makes normal chime when you first power up
but after about 15 seconds makes a breaking glass sound and nothing
further happens. Screen stays dark. I put the original CD in and held
down the "C" key and the same thing happens. I then removed the hard
drive and put it into another G3 desktop and it boots fine there so I'm
thinking it's a problem with the motherboard. Any ideas? What's this
breaking glass sound? I couldn't find anything about it on Apple's web site.

    TIA,
