            First off, you don't need to have a SCSI card with BIOS to use it with
    non-bootable devices... And I think a scanner falls into that category! :)

            Did you check the SCSI control panel to verify the NT driver for that card
    has loaded? If the driver for that card loaded, did you expand it to see if
    the scanner is showing up there?

            Are your TWAIN drivers (TWUNK16.DLL and/or TWUNK32.DLL) loaded and working
    properly? Are you using a standalone scanning applet or a Photoshop plugin?
    If you are using a Photoshop plugin did you throw away the Prefs?

            Yes, you need to throw away the prefs file for the Windows version as well
    as the Mac version of Photoshop when you change the hardware.
