I have seen this before, several times. This is most often an Nway auto
negotiation issue, more often with half vs. full duplex than 10 vs.
100Mbit. The easiest way to solve this is to set the server NIC to
half-duplex, 100Mbit, or log into the hub or switch (if it is a managed
unit) and set the port the server is connected to at half-duplex, 100Mbit.
If this does not work, I would have the cabling checked, cabling that does
not meet the full Category 5 standard will sometimes cause similar symptoms.
