    i think everybody's missing the point. Yes - for physically *networking*
    the two PCs a crossover cable will work fine, as you said. Sure, a hub
    will allow you to add more computers later.

    But you're asking about file sharing. Under Windows 95/98, it's
    easy - file sharing is built in! Ah heck, here's a tutorial:
