    Yes, absolutely this can be done.

    Easiest way to do file sharing between 2 PC's is to install the NetBeui
    protocol rather than TCP/IP...both protocols can be used at the same time if
    that is needed for your situation.

    I know it is very easy to network two Macs for file sharing using a
    crossover cable. Can this be done with two PCs in the same way?
    What would be the cheapest and easiest way to set up file sharing
    between two PCs?
