    Ouch. That sounds extra lemony. Worst sustained experiences I've heard of (although 90% of my Epson experience is with 3000s). It does sound like you got a crappy one. I've spoken with people that have had to return up to three 3000s when they were introduced, but those units had the courtesy to suck straight out of the box. Early versions of the NICs for the 3000s were designed with a flaw; I don't know if you're seeing the 850 equivalent.

    I was wondering if the climate in Hawaii might be a factor? Although my hunch would be that it isn't, and might even be beneficial.
