    Will,

Following up on some of Dan's suggestions re: SCSI HD, SCSI CD, dual cpu,
    ECC RAM...

I recently picked up a refurbished Dell Poweredge 2200. I've worked with
lots of standard PC desktops. I was very impressed with the higher quality
of components and construction in this server. All the above features are
included plus 10/100 ethernet, plenty of power & cooling plus mucho room
    for cards & drives.

I'm upgrading it to more current specs for speed and RAM. Video is limited
as one would expect for a server. 1024 X 768 @ 256 works for me but you can
add a card if you're going to need better. You could pickup a newer 2300
for a very reasonable price and skip the upgrades. I'm sure the same could
be said for the IBM Netfinity series. The point being that there is a
significant difference in quality between the consumer desktops and the
    servers.

If you go this route you will be able to get NT loaded but probably not the
    MS Office Suite.

    Good Luck, Richard L.
