I am trying to set up ASIP 6.3 on a new G4 running OS 9 and am running into
some problems. Before my next "format and start over" attempt, I thought I
ask if there are any secrets that I should know regarding the combination in
the subject line.
My specific problem is that Finder and Server Admin crash when I use the
Copy Item command to copy folders with permissions intact. These crashes
cause problems ranging from ASIP refusing to start on the next reboot to the
disk not being recognized as a startup disk.
In the absence of knowledgeable input, my next attempt will be to partition
the drive into a number of small (4 GB) drives and format them all as HFS
standard. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
