This is for NT Workstation I assume. Doing a minimal NT install on the
second disk is not a bad idea. No, you can't just copy the files over. When
you have it installed on the second disk, you'll have 4 options instead of
2 in your boot menu, choices 3 and 4 will be for the D drive.

If you keep all your data on D: then you can blow away C: if a problem
arises and not lose your files.

Putting your pagefile on a (physical) disk separate from your system
(C:\winnt) can improve performance.
