Next message: Romeyn Prescott: "[WinMac] How to make a bootable CD for a PC?"
This is in response to a question about inexpensive tape backup solutions.
We have purchased system from ECRIX <http//www.ecrix.com>. They have
developed a new tape system that is inexpensive, reliable and large. A
single tape holds 33 gig uncompressed and 66 gig compressed (I have not
filled a tape yet but I think it will actually hold about 50 gig
compressed). The tapes cost $80 US. They have lower capacity tape for $30.
The internal drive is $899 US and is the size of a CD-ROM drive. The
mechanism is very quiet (unlike my 6 DAT cartridge drive) and has a 3 yr.
warranty. I have had excellent response to my questions from the marketing
folks and from the tech folks.
I have no affiliation with the company other than as a satisfied customer.
