[WinMac] SFM etc. issues...puzzling

I have installed SFM on our new Dell server, and it seems to be working for the most part...except for some funny problems.

1. I have SP5 on this machine and the Mac is still only seeing 1.9 gb for the volume, which is actually on a 14 gb disk partition. The Mac is running System 8.1. It's probably not possible to upgrade right now...

2. The first Win9x machine I tried to connect to the share for the entire D:\ partition (d_dell) will only see the shared Mac volume I created, and it can't log on to it...!!

Facts about this PC:

It has PCMACLAN 7.x on it...doesn't matter if I shut off the PCMACLAN server. Haven't tried rebooting yet, though I will do so shortly.

It wants a password to open the Mac volume, even though that server and volume are set for guest access, and there are no passwords being used on the server per se (small company, my boss doesn't like passwords), and rejects a blank password field.

Sometimes it wants me to log on to the IPC$ share...????

Should I uninstall PCMACLAN on the computers that have it?
Unbind AppleTalk from the PCs' NICs?

"Gator Pro," a little app which comes with PCMACLAN, sees the Dell as an Appletalk server.

The server has TCP/IP and NetBEUI installed for protocols in addition to the Appletalk installed when SFM was put in...

I have a basic user named 'tom' that I will try using for testing, it's a member of users, domain users, and domain guests...

I'm going to check MacWindows.com again, but I don't think I saw anything there on this topic...

Thank you for any help you all can provide. I hope I don't have to reinstall the server etc., I've done that once already...!!!

:) tom
