Hello,
I am currently looking add an 100GB AIT2 tape drive as my primary backup
device. FYI, this drive will be replacing an Iomega 2GB Jaz drive. My LAN
is a 50/50 Mac/PC mix using Retrospect 4.2 for the Mac as the backup server.
I will be backing up a grand total of 20GB/data per rotation.
I am currently looking at three different manufacturers of the AIT2 drives
and I am looking for some feedback any of you might have. The top models I
am looking at are the Micronet SSW-100-AIT2, the Sony SDX-S500C/BM, and the
LaCie 50/100 AIT2 tape drives.
If you have any experience with any of these devices, or if you use another
AIT2 drive, please let me know. Specifically, I am looking for
recommendations for a good AIT2 tape drive. Feel free to let me know if you
think AIT stinks as a backup solution.
