You'll probably get a few responses to this, but go to Apple software and search for *Duplexer* and it should turn up an unsupported download of a set of 4 system extensions (100 full and half, 10 full and half) that will set the network flavor for you.

These are reported to NOT work on beige G3s, but only B&W and later.
