        <sigh>...

Just look down the WinMac list for the last few days... Speed Doubler,
Magic Menu (sorry, Len!), Virex, Conflict Catcher... The list goes on and
on of Extensions & Control Panels that were broken by System 7/8 upgrades.

Let's see a show of hands for those that had Apple's own disk drivers
broken by MacOS 8.0 - Especially on IDE PPC machines like the 6300...

Let's see another show of hands that had their apps - Like the currently
shipping PageMaker 6.52 - that were broken by MacOS 8.6...

And your statement "Maybe you would have better results if you exercised
more care in selecting products that are ready for market and avoid beta
versions" has been the exact opposite of what I have experienced over the
last 12 years on the Mac: Stable, released code - Especially CDEV's &
INIT's - broke with ease every time System 6, 7 & 8 were updated. Can you
say "Adobe Type Manager?"

        Cheers!
