[WinMac] Half-duplex with built-in ethernet on G3/G4

I need to set the ethernet on couple of these machines to half-duplex, but
don't have a clue where to do this. The Asante cards in my older Macs have a
control panel for card settings, but I can't locate an equivalent for built
in ethernet. I have tried forcing my switch to half-duplex, but on the ports
where the macs are it always resets itself to full duplex when the macs
restart.
