"Connectoids," that's new to me :) If they're not supplying the client to
the Windows people then most likely they're using Microsoft's Dial-Up
Networking 1.3 (or Windows98) which includes their VPN stuff and the VPN
connection uses PPTP. If the VPN server does use PPTP, your only option for
Mac software is NTS's TunnelBuilder.

Unfortunately NTS decided this year that they weren't making enough money
when selling individual copies so the price of the single copy vs. license
pack is outrageous. At least they have a downloadable demo so you can make
sure it works first.
Check with the VPN operators to see if it also supports IPSec. If it does
and they'll use it another option may be to buy PGP. PGP now includes a
component called PGPnet which can do IPSec compliant connections
host-to-host or with VPN servers. The version of PGPnet which comes with
PGP freeware only does the host-to-host connection.
