Also, consider using an OS X server running only Mac Manager. This
allows exactly everything At Ease allowed and you can boot off of the
server if need be. We have implemented the server in a studio
environment with about 30 users because of a problem with freelancers
destroying machines. Sometimes, they are almost like children...

OK, it was three words ;-), but the newest OS from Apple has excellent multi-user capabilities built-in (with a pretty cool interface and full control of access to programs, files, volumes, printers, CD-ROMs and settings for each user or set of users).

In addition to a "better At Ease" you get faster performance (very noticeable), Sherlock II, Shareway IP, improved Voice Recognition, Fully-Scriptable Finder, OpenGL support, Accelerated IP performance, etc.... all for only $89 (schools get a special volume licensing price).

We beta-tested it and loved it so much that we've already ordered a few copies (coming out on the 23rd).

My Macintosh lab in an elementary school is taking up too much of my time
fixing things that the kids have messed up.  I have used At Ease in the past
to lock down Macs and would like to put it in the lab.

But I cannot find a vendor who sells it.  Does anyone know if it is still in
production (I think that Apple produced it)?  If it is no longer available
what are others using to lock the Mac interface?
