[WinMac] AppleTalk protocol on WinNT workstation

I work in a mixed WinNT/Mac environment with both platforms accessing
the same NT server just fine. We have SFM installed on the server.
However with all the talk recently about getting Macs and Windows
computers to share things I thought I'd try something I'd been thinking
about for some time now. On a Windows NT workstation you can install
the AppleTalk protocol. I've just done that but I can't see where it's
made any difference. That NT workstation still can't see my Macs nor
can my Macs see that NT workstation.

Just what is the AppleTalk protocol in NT suppose to do for me?
