The problem above was solved! antivirus wasnt the problem since the machine
was running current versions.
Problem was solved when an extension called WormGuard was removed. This file
came from Macworld Black Book CD and it looks for the autostart virus and
removes the virus when it can from any disk inserted after the extension is
started. It worked great...on machines NOT running 8.6! A lesson well
learned...
