The PDFWriter that's on the server is really an updater for
3.x for NT - and yes, it does indeed require Windows. I keep
considering writing my own PDFWriter (now that I'm not at Adobe
anymore), but then I find other things to do...

It generates "so so" PDF's - they work fine with Acro3 but
Acro4 is a bit more picky about PDF's and the GS ones tend to make it
unhappy.
