Try a quite different tack. Just prepare your material with what
works best for you and then make up an Adobe Acrobat .pdf file.
The Acrobat reader should know how to print from the machine it
lives on and the machine will most likely already have one. So
you will only need to carry the .pdf file around.

The great merit of Acrobat .pdf files is that the reader is
available everywhere and works nicely. The drawback is that you
will have to pop for the the whole Acrobat package. When it first
came out it was a bit of a stretch as it was $$$, but it is now a
lot cheaper with either ~$200 for the kit or various specials
and maybe even academic pricing. But you also get a nice postscript
reader by converting and then reading. You will never again have
to worry about whether the recpient can read your stuff. If you
can get help with the shareware scene, you can get much the same
benefits with GhostScript and save a few pennies at the price of
extra fuss. Depending upon your circumstance the balance of pennies
vrs fuss can differ quite a bit. In most parts of the world fuss is
very expensive although universies are rather different.
