Having a problem with one of the Macs on our network. It is a 9600-200. At
times, it appears that the CD ROM is running slowly. Certain disks do not
function properly. Others seem to be just fine. The greater problem is
that the computer will not consistently force boot from a CD startup disk.
Service replaced the CD ROM at one point. But we still have the problem.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that we have no further problems that
would require the use of the startup disk.

Anyone have any ideas???

Regards,

Jim Stahl

This didn't appear to be possible when I tried to find out last year. I
half remember having read somthing since then about FileMaker and ODBC,
so things may have changed.

We're in the process of changing out email servers. =

Going in the garbage is NetTen from Tenon intersystems (on a macOS server).=

Currently under testing is Lotus Domino R5 Mailserver (on an NT server).

NetTen includes an integrated BIND dns. When I get rid of NetTen, we won'=
t have a local DNS server on our network anymore - BTW, our ISP keeps our =
primary.

I can just install the Microsoft DNS service on one of our NT servers (for =
the time being I've installed it on the same NT server that's running =
Domino).

Any problems or issues running the DNS service on NT? Would I be better =
off digging up our old copy of QuickDNS pro and running it on a mac? That'=
s also an option I suppose...

Any advice or comments greatly appreciated!

TIA
