Oh jeez, I wish I could remember... :( I believe it is also NET STOP
<something> (IISADMIN perhaps? or WEBADMIN). I'd have to look it up since
I've never done it from DOS, I always did it from the services control
panel. And I check this list from home where I don't have NT (not
anymore, after it died...)

Sorry

It really depends on what you write in the BOOT.INI file. You have to
specify here the scsi controller number, the scsi ID and the partition
from which you want NT to boot (unless you have a PowerPC system, but if
it's Intel you have to specify all that).

The only way to do it if you don't use DAVE, is with Desktop Printing and
Laserwriter 8.5 and above. Again, be very careful with Desktop Printing,
you've been warned ;) as they say in the samba configuration file, gotta
love that.

Never give up the fight for the Mac, it is the quintessential OS when it
comes to integrating with other OSs.

Plus it's the best OS in the world :)

I don't know if it's been mentioned here but Mac OS 8.6 is out and it's
SUPPOSED to take care of the Mac's problems with dropping TCP/IP
connections. Of course there are a couple of caveats with it but nothing
big (at least that I have noticed).

OK, Gang, has anybody had any luck with the Microsoft Office apps and the
Red X of Death when trying to read documents using Win graphics in versions
of Word, Excel or PP 97 with Mac Office 98 apps?

I'm the lone Mac in a sea of PeeCee's and this is Red X of Death is killing me.

I know that the MS Knowledge Base acknowledges the Red X, but offers no
solution.

TIA
