You could also use the HP LaserJet Utility 3.4 via your Mac to change the
display message on each printer's LED panel. The default is probably
"READY"; just change it to a unique value such as "Printer 1", "Printer 2",
"Be Happy", or any other silly phrase. Then physically visit each printer
and take notes as to what it should be named. Go back to the HP LaserJet
Utility 3.4 and plug in the names. The display message will remain until
the printer's power is interrupted, but of course the printer's name will
persist through a power cycle.
