I have a slight problem. I need to create accounts on a high school NT 4.0
SP 4 server that teachers can logon to. Unfortunately, whenever I create an
account and try and logon to that account from a Win98 workstation I get a
message that the username cannot be found. Just to be clear, I am telling
the MS client to logon on to the NT domain, and I can logon on to the NT
server from one of the already created Admin accounts from said Win98 WS. I
am just running into troubles making new accounts with people loggin on as
Domain Users.

Any ideas?

Respectfully,

PROXY SERVERS

Dear All

I have just taken delivery of a proxy server called CProxy which appears
to work ok using a PC server for a Mac network. I also use Vpop3 for the
mail server, this also works very well using Eudora as the mail client.

I would prefer to use a total Mac solution but I have not found a cost
effective one when customers have sites of 30+ users.

Regards

Paul

As an update to my original post, here is our current configuration:

We are not using the FTP Proxy option but are instead using a Socks
connection and Passive FTP (both set in the Advanced tab of the
Internet control panel). This is with MS Proxy 2.0.

Anarchie is successfully able to download, delete and rename files.
However, when uploading we get an error "426 Data Connection:
Connection reset by peer." right before then end of the transfer.
Refreshing the remote listing shows that the file size on the
uploaded file is a couple of k smaller than what it should be.

Darn.

I was not able to get Transmit or Netfinder to work at all, despite
their proxy settings.

I'm advising our Server Tech to switch proxy servers, though he will
only consider Netscape or Microsoft as possibilities. Any
experiences with Netscape's Proxy server?

Thanks again,
George
