yes, get another proxy server! I'm sorry to say we tried just about
everything at work to get the same thing to work (even editing the
Registry on the proxy server to EnablePortAttack = 1 so that ftp traffic
could go through another port than 20) and to no avail. I tried different
clients, even ones that supported SOCKS firewalling (like Transmit) and
nothing!

Eventually we decided to change the proxy server to something that
actually works (we were also having problems with the PCs). We haven't
changed it yet, but we're in the process of looking at that.

        You can set the clock forward to December 31, 1999, launch a QuickTime
app, quit it, then set the clock back... Works for Mac; haven't tried it in
NT yet...
